We support PDF files (.pdf), Word documents (.docx), plain text files (.txt), Markdown files (.md), and YouTube videos (paste the URL to extract transcripts). Maximum file size is 10MB per upload.

Published notes earn you points (25 points per share), can receive upvotes from the community, and allow for comments and discussions. You can search library notes by subject, filter by most popular or recent, and upvote helpful content. Notes can also be reported if they violate community guidelines, and admins moderate all content.

Yes! Your personal notes are private by default - only you can see them unless you choose to publish to the library. We use secure authentication (NextAuth with email magic links, Google OAuth, and Microsoft Azure AD), encrypted connections, and follow best practices for data protection. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. We never share your personal information with third parties.

StudentNotes is a Progressive Web App (PWA) with push notification support. You can enable notifications to receive alerts for friend requests, study group messages, study reminders, new deals, and achievement unlocks. Notifications work even when the app is closed, helping you stay connected and on track.

As a PWA, StudentNotes has offline capabilities. You can install the app on your device (look for the install prompt in your browser), and basic features work without internet. However, AI generation, library access, and real-time chat require an active internet connection.

Documents are processed up to 15,000 characters. If your document exceeds this length, it will be automatically truncated to ensure optimal AI processing quality and generation speed. For best results, upload focused content rather than entire textbooks.

If you encounter inappropriate content in the library or comments, use the report button (flag icon) available on each note and comment. Reports are reviewed by our admin team, who can remove content, warn users, or take further action as needed. We take community safety seriously.

Currently, notes can be viewed and copied from your dashboard. We recommend using your browser's print or save as PDF functionality to export individual notes. More export options may be added based on user feedback.

When you reach your monthly limit, you can either wait until the next month (limits reset on the 1st), earn bonus generations through referrals and point conversion, or continue using manual note creation and other study tools (study planner, pomodoro timer, journal, study groups) which have no limits.
